We just have a #WeStartCamp in our eyes

Euge, one of the winners of the #WeStartCamp wrote in her social networks: “I’m not crying, I just have this awesome winning team of the @westart.tech in my eyes!”

We totally empathize with that feeling because the same thing happened to us. ❤️

This project began with a Zoom meeting several months ago. It was a quick talk where the girls from We Start shared their dreams with us, and we had no hesitation in saying: “We’re IN!”.

We were clear about how this was a great opportunity to be inspired and create impact. And we were right.

The #WeStartCamp was intense. In only 11 hours (yes, 11 hours for real), girls that hadn’t met before formed teams around verticals of interest (Govtech, Agtech, Fintech, Healthtech and Proptech), embraced a challenge, explored it, and thought of different solutions. From the suggested solutions, they chose one, made a pitch and presented it before a prestigious jury:

👉🏼 Ana Sanmartino (Co- Founder & Chief Talent Officer @ Pluralit)

👉🏼 Consuelo Escribano (Director of Knowledge Economy at the Ministry of Science and Technology of Córdoba)

👉🏼 Maria Emilia Zorzin (Consultant – Fundación Iniciativa)

👉🏼 Hernan Laguia (Business Solutions Manager at NXTP Corporate Partners)

👉🏼 Mariano Miles (CEO at SocialWapy)

👉🏼 Nicolas Ferreyra (President of ASETEC – Technology Entrepreneurship Association)

All this took place just as we’re telling it, almost at the speed of light, in 3 days. It is worth mentioning that most of the participants had never made a pitch before, let alone participated in the process of setting up a Tech Startup. Amazing! 🚀

In this whirl of activity, we learned a lot:

  • There’s plenty of talent! There aren’t enough spaces and invitations to create.
  • Once more, the premise: “trust the process,” worked just fine. In the midst of such creative chaos, methodology (#designsprint & #designthinking) is our beacon.
  •  It’s time to trust even more in our judgment and the team’s potential.
  • And remember: no one feels embarrassed to dance in front of a computer if there are others to dance with. 😜

When we started dreaming about Say Hi!, we would say that we wanted to work with projects that generated impact, and this project is a clear example of just that: 50 girls were able to design their very first Tech Start Up, and most significant: they gave themselves the chance to design their futures as entrepreneurs, and who knows, they might become one of the future “unicorns”🦄. That’s priceless.

Thanks, WeStart, for letting us be a part of this dream!
