My head is broken now

My head is broken now

It wasn’t what we had in mind, but at the end of the Agile Habits Training, a participant left this message.

Early this year, we started working with CAMARCO (Argentine Chamber for Construction) on the communication of a Series of Events, about which we will tell you more later on. We got a call from Sebastián, the Director of CAMARCO’s Escuela de Gestión [Management School] to ask if we could facilitate a course explaining and teaching our way of working. And without hesitating, we said: “yes!” Teaching and training with this ‘new way of doing things’ is part of our DNA.”

It was quite a challenge for us since it was the first time we were to meet with profiles from the construction industry: engineers, architects, team leaders, etc. However, after an exercise with Sebas and his team, we were able to understand and align ourselves with regard to the profile, and with this information, we designed a customized course.

It was an amazing experience! We developed a practical and experiential training that consisted in two encounters of 3 hours, where we invited the team to learn and apply different tools and knowledge.

We kicked off with an introduction to agile methodologies, with an emphasis on the most widely used by companies nowadays. Also, we applied a specific dynamic that works on the principles of Design Sprint. Later, we learned to design and structure meetings so that they are both agile and effective focusing on: project kick off, daily and retrospective applying different dynamics and tools that can be used in these kinds of meetings. And as a final practice, each team had to design a specific meeting using the various agile tools and principles.

We never intended to break anyone’s head, but apparently, we did. There are other messages that we’d like to share with you: “This training left me with 1,000 ideas,” “Now I want to improve the dynamics of my meetings,” “The significance of planning and moderating.”

Thanks, Escuela de Gestión, for trusting Say Hi!
